Isabel Maestre is an Aeronautical Engineer graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and she has an Executive Master Degree on Public Management by the IE Bussiness School, in Madrid. She began her professional career, between 1992 and 2002, whithin commercial aviation sector, holding leadership positions in different national airlines on Quality Engineering and as Head of Engineering in the Technical Directorate of Maintenance. After, she joined the Directorate of Airport Projects at INECO, being responsible for various projects on airport management for AENA. Prior to her current position, from 2005 until 2008, she worked at SENASA, as Managing Director of Flight Standards, holding accountability for inspection services, delegated by the former General Directorate of Civil Aviation on the control of safety and airworthiness; and as Director of Training, an unit responsible for the initial training of air traffic controllers.
